What are the educational requirements?

Not just any student can become a CPA. To become a CPA, you must attend a college or university accredited by the State Board. In addition, you must take classes specific that cover specific accounting skills.

How many credits do I need?

As of July 1, 1999, CPA candidates must have satisfactorily completed 150 semester hours, or their equivalent, including the attainment of a baccalaureate or higher degree.

Can I attend any school?

You must major in accounting on the baccalaureate level, or its substantial equivalent from an institution that is a member of the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business; is accredited by or is a constituent of an institution accredited by the Middles States Association of Colleges and Schools; or the equivalent regional accrediting association for other regional areas; or is recognized and approved by the Board.

What classes do I need to take?
