Towson CPAs put away the paper

Most people's images of accountants involve paper — thick ledgers, overflowing files or briefcases bulging with financial statements. But at Towson-based CPA firm KAWG&F, accountants are more likely to carry sleek laptops than bulging briefcases.

That's why we're here

"I am an Accounting I and II teacher. I have really enjoyed reading the sites you have e-mailed. I have also been giving them to my students as warm-ups when they come in; for example, I have assigned the 11 Rules of Bill Gates and the one on career paths. Thanks so much for the info!"
— Mrs. Constance Green, Parkside High School, Salisbury

No more analogies! The SAT is changing

The SAT and PSAT will be changing significantly, starting in October. Find out what's being added, what's being removed — and how you can best prepare. These changes might sound like a big deal, but the reality is the test has changed many times in the past.

TCPA member profile

Meet Kristy Kuczenski, a senior at Salisbury University and employee at Pigg, Krahl, Stern & Co., P.A.

  • Graduation date: May 20, 2004 for bachelor's, then on to the MBA.
  • Hobbies: I am addicted to simple little computer puzzle games.
  • Favorite movie: I can't really think of one. I don't see a lot of movies, but I laughed a lot at "Meet the Parents."
  • Why I want to be a CPA: I love to work with numbers, and I think it is a well-respected profession.
  • Favorite course: Personal Income Tax, Principles of Accounting I. (Don't you wish it was all that simple?)
  • Least favorite course: Corporate Income Tax (I had a bad teacher — I still enjoy learning about and preparing corporate income tax returns), and I thought Marketing was a waste of time!
  • What people say when I tell them my career choice: Most say, "Eww, I hate math too much to do that," then they are impressed, then they usually ask me (jokingly) if I will do their taxes!
