Towson, UBalt offer new joint master's in accounting

Towson University and the University of Baltimore will begin offering a dual master's degree in accounting and business advisory services in the fall 2004 semester.   AICPA picks top 10 technologies

The AICPA has announced its 14th annual list of the Top 10 Technologies that will most affect the accounting profession in 2004. For the second year in a row, information security captured the top spot. Spam technology, a new issue, came in at number two. Other top issues are digital optimization, database and application integration, wireless technologies, disaster recovery, data mining and virtual offices. William Macy to portray CPA club owner

Actor William H. Macy is reportedly slated to star as a CPA hired by Florida to turn a chain of failing local clubs into profitable businesses. The upcoming movie for Showtime is based on the true story of a retired accountant.
