Tomorrow's CPA mourns the death of Benjamin L. King Sr., Maryland's first African-American CPA

Benjamin L. King Sr., the first African-American to earn a CPA license in Maryland and a dedicated advocate for black accountants, died on Tuesday. King earned his groundbreaking CPA designation in 1957, making him just the 45th African-American nationwide to join the profession. He joined the Maryland Association of CPAs in 1958 and remained an MACPA member until his death.
