Survey: Students not taught basic finance

More states are requiring students to learn about managing money, but personal finance remains a fringe topic in schools and a major source of federal concern. Only seven states require students to take a course about basic finances to graduate from high school — and Maryland isn’t one of them. UB, Towson MBA program gets support

A plan by Towson University and the University of Baltimore to create a joint MBA degree received an important boost as the state's higher education secretary announced his approval of the program. But some oppose the move.
